The Phlebotomist draws blood from patients, processes specimens and performs administrative duties as required. This role involves patient registration, payment collection, data entry, and managing patient test requests. The technician will also be responsible for accurately identifying patients, performing phlebotomy, adhering to safety protocols, and collecting various types of samples. Additionally, the role includes processing collected specimens, handling stat requests, managing specimens for courier pick-up, and understanding insurance processes related to reference laboratories. Some positions may require driving to client sites for specimen collection and performing limited waived testing. The technician will also assist with inventory, supply management, and training new staff, acting as a resource for the phlebotomy team.
