Provides leadership to phlebotomy staff, collects blood specimens from patients and assumes responsibility for processing of specimens, data entry and point of care testing following established standards and practices. Requirements

Associate's degree from an accredited school with 24 hours of applicable science courses
Two years of phlebotomy experience in both venipuncture and capillary techniques
Satisfactorily complete 90% of all collections within the 90 day probationary period
Maintain accurate records and logs
Demonstrate a working knowledge of a personal computer and be able to learn and efficiently use required software
Demonstrate effective organizational skills
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in meeting age related and handicapped patients' needs
Cooperate with patients, visitors and hospital staff
Handle detailed work and maintain a pleasant demeanor while under pressure and stress
Clear speech, normal hearing and good visual acuity
Move rapidly from one location to the next
Make decisions and solve problems
High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or a college degree for non-waived point of care testing
Current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross Rescuer, Military Training Network
