Phlebotomy Technician Skill Assistant
About The Position
CALRegional is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor to join their team. This role is ideal for medical professionals looking to earn extra income while making a significant impact on aspiring healthcare professionals. The Phlebotomy Technician Programs run for 3-12 weeks, with weekday morning, evening, and Saturday schedules available. The specific schedule for this role is Tuesday/Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm. The instructor will be responsible for preparing students for a 72-hour class and a subsequent 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital setting.
Requirements
- Current CPT License.
- Must have 3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
- Must be proficient in all aspects of blood collection, including capillary, syringe, vacutainer, and butterfly methods.
- Must be comfortable with speaking to large groups, multi-tasking, and critical thinking.
- Efficient with computers and technology.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
Nice To Haves
- No teaching experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
- Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
- Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
- Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
- Providing a professional role model for students.
