Phlebotomy Technician Instructor (Part-Time Evenings) Location: Phoenix, AZ (Phoenix Campus – Black Canyon Hwy / Sweetwater) | On-Site Type: Part-Time (20 Hours per Week) | Non-Exempt Schedule: Evening Schedule Department: Phlebotomy Technician Program Compensation: $20.80 – $24.96 per hour Position Summary Transform your clinical expertise into an inspiring career in education! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician Instructor to join our evening faculty team at our Phoenix campus. In this role, you will lead adult learners through hands-on lab instruction, practical demonstrations, and engaging classroom lectures. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Technician program recognized by USDE or CHEA; OR Minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience in phlebotomy for non-graduates.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience as a Phlebotomist or in a closely related healthcare field.
  • Active license, certification, or designation in phlebotomy as required by local, state, or federal laws.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans utilizing diverse teaching techniques to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Instruct students in clinical lab settings, demonstrating proper venipuncture, capillary puncture, specimen handling, and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate and grade student coursework, laboratory competencies, and assignments within 72 hours.
  • Maintain regular face-to-face office hours to support, advise, and mentor students through academic challenges.
  • Document student academic progress and address behavioral concerns promptly, notifying campus leadership within 24 hours of any incident.
  • Partner with Admissions and Career Services on student success, externship placements, guest speakers, and clinical site visits.
  • Complete and maintain accurate student files, daily attendance logs, incident reports, and early alerts.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, Advisory Board meetings, in-service workshops, and campus graduation ceremonies.
