About The Position

Obtains blood specimens from patients and delivers specimens to the laboratory and/or sends through the transport system. Correctly identifies patients and specimens.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
Must complete HeartSaver CPR by the end of the orientation period
Absolute integrity and accuracy in the patient identification process
Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly

Nice To Haves

MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred
Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of biology and 6 semester hours of chemistry preferred
Previous work experience strongly preferred
