About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking a Phlebotomy Service Representative II - Float to join their team. This position is based in Ada, OK, with hours typically Monday-Friday from 7 am to 4 pm, but requires flexibility. The role involves performing all assigned duties and processes, maintaining a positive and professional attitude, and working collaboratively within a team environment. The Phlebotomy Service Rep II will be responsible for collecting blood and urine specimens, accurately entering patient and test information into the Care 360 system, processing specimens, and obtaining necessary billing and diagnosis information. Clear and professional communication with internal teams, patients, and external customers is essential.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of venipuncture techniques utilizing vacutainer needles and hubs, butterfly devices, safety needles, and syringes.
  • Proven ability to collect blood specimens from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations
  • Ability to manage a high patient volume efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with all DLO departments and clients
  • Proficiency in basic computer use, including keyboarding and data entry
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • English (Required)

  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects. The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 15 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 16 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally and objects in the weight range of 26 to 40 pounds are seldom lifted and carried. Objects exceeding 41 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood and urine specimens using approved techniques and equipment
  • Accession patient and test information accurately into the Care 360 system
  • Process and prepare all types of specimens for testing
  • Obtain billing information from patients and ICD-10 diagnosis information from clients, as needed
  • Communicate clearly, courteously, and professionally with internal teams, patients, and external customers
