About The Position

The Phlebotomy Educator will be responsible for teaching and training students in the skills, knowledge, and professional standards required for safe and effective phlebotomy practice for research. This role involves preparing and delivering lectures, laboratory demonstrations, and hands-on training. Deliver engaging lectures and demonstrate safe phlebotomy techniques for research. Instruct students in venipuncture, specimen collection, infection control, and laboratory safety protocols in accordance with institutional policies and guidelines. Supervise and evaluate students’ practical skills in simulated settings. Promote professionalism, ethical practice, and patient-centered care in all aspects of instruction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Have successfully performed blood draws in the past 30 days
  • Experience in phlebotomy 3-5 years required
  • Ability to train students in phlebotomy techniques.
  • In depth knowledge of phlebotomy regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient with statistical and computer productivity software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated training skills.
  • Strong knowledge of and demonstrated skill in phlebotomy techniques, infection control, and laboratory and clinical safety.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of learners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience training individuals on phlebotomy procedures 1-2 years preferred
  • 1-2 years of prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience
