About The Position

Fort HealthCare is seeking a phlebotomist to join their Laboratory team. This is a full-time position for the PM shift, working Monday through Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The phlebotomist collects blood specimens from patients and performs other lab duties under the guidance of medical technologists. Fort HealthCare is a patient-centered hospital and healthcare system serving Jefferson, Dane, and Walworth Counties, and has received numerous Top Workplace awards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must productively interact with patients, lab staff, physicians, nursing staff, and related personnel to perform laboratory work and report on results.

Nice To Haves

• ASCP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Collects specimens from patients of all ages using various collection devices.
• Monitors orders and collection lists assuring timely collection.
• Performs waived testing procedures, culture set up and assists in specimen processing.
• Organizes, restocks, and cleans outpatient drawing area and all carts, trays and hand helds.
