About The Position

Sonic Healthcare USA, a Great Place to Work certified employer, is seeking a Phlebotomist for Maui Memorial Medical Center in Wailuku, HI. This full-time role is crucial to patient care, involving the collection, processing, preparation, routing, and storage of laboratory specimens. The position requires recognizing and implementing corrective actions when needed, working in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE, and championing safety, compliance, and quality control. This role will provide routine access to protected health information (PHI), and employees will be trained on privacy and security standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.

Nice To Haves

• 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production

Responsibilities

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure laboratory specimens are appropriately collected (including phlebotomy), processed, prepared, routed, and stored
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements
