About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role involves using equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents, explaining procedures, and collecting information in a professional manner. The Phlebotomist will collect and manage samples of blood and specimens, ensuring patient/resident safety during the collection process. They will accurately record and document patient/resident information, follow all standard procedures and safety regulations, and deploy asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communication with patients/residents, collecting their health information, and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
  • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
