About The Position

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Phlebotomist II for MidState Medical Center. MidState Medical Center, serving the community since 1998, is recognized for quality stroke care, organ donation, and cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation. The Phlebotomist II is responsible for collecting blood specimens safely and accurately, maintaining inventory, dispatch scheduling, and Epic registration. The role emphasizes excellent patient care, exceptional patience, quality service, and positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent or successful completion of Phlebotomy program
  • 1 year phlebotomy experience
  • Knowledge of venipuncture techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
  • Good keyboarding skills with ability to learn various laboratory application and HHC computer systems
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to handle different patient population including difficult patients
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate required lab equipment including pneumatic tube

Responsibilities

  • Collecting venous and capillary blood specimens from patients in a safe and accurate manner according to established lab policies and practices
  • Maintaining inventory
