About The Position

Simple Laboratories is looking for an experienced Part-Time on-site Phlebotomist for our Chicago south side hospital location. The ideal candidate is phlebotomy certified, MA or nurse, and enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and demonstrates optimal patient care. Simple Laboratories provides laboratory diagnostic testing and related services in the Midwest of the United States. Certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments program (CLIA), Simple Laboratories is a full-service, clinical laboratory offering a comprehensive test menu and wide-ranging services to support physician offices and surgical centers. The company specializes in routine testing services, including blood chemistry analysis, urinalysis, blood cell count, thyroid testing, Pap testing, HIV / STI testing, and microbiology culture / procedure. Requirements

Three (3) years phlebotomy
Phlebotomy Certified
Phlebotomy Certificate
MA or nurse
High School or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively
Must follow dress code; scrubs while performing phlebotomy or similar covering.
Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion.
Hepatitis B Vaccination
Covid Vaccination
Phlebotomy Certification or Medical Assistant Certification with Phlebotomy training
Good attitude
Flexible with availability
Basic computer skills a must

Responsibilities

Ensure identification of patients and their personal information using their ID, documents, or other means.
Determine the right venipuncture method based on patients' age.
Reassure patients and help them relax.
Find veins that are suitable for venipuncture.
Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment.
Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples.
Label samples correctly, process, package for courier delivery to the lab.
Answer patient questions and provide useful information.
Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working.
