About The Position

Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Lexington, MA. This is a 3+ months with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Title: Phlebotomist II Location: Lexington, MA 02421 Pay Rate: $18 - $21/hr. on W2. Shift: Lexington Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00–12:00, 1:30–5:00 Newton Tuesday, Thursday 9:00–12:00, 1:30–5:00 Duration: 3+ months Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist required.
• Active Driving License

Nice To Haves

• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
• Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.
