About The Position

The Phlebotomist collects, draws samples, and processes laboratory orders and prepares specimens for testing for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Provides excellent customer service to our patients, external and internal customers. Provides and fosters a positive, professional, and productive environment with the laboratory department. The primary goal of the El Rio Health Phlebotomist is to support El Rio’s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a Phlebotomist or Medical Laboratory Assistant.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) from an American Heart Association (AHA) accredited program.
  • Certificate from accredited school for Phlebotomy.
  • Reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday.
  • If driving during work hours, must possess a valid driver’s license and comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Level One Fingerprint Clearance card.
  • Undergo drug testing prior to employment and be subject to post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and follow up drug and alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years’ experience as Phlebotomist or Medical Laboratory Assistant.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read, and write in both languages effectively.
