About The Position

This position is responsible for collecting and processing venous and capillary samples from all patient age groups. The role also involves performing and documenting therapeutic phlebotomies, documenting and recording samples/results, accessioning and processing referral testing samples, and maintaining records, files, and routing patient reports. Clerical duties as assigned and participation in QA activities are also part of the responsibilities. The work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood or other body fluids.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
• Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
• Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.

Nice To Haves

• Formal phlebotomy training preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomist, CMA, EMT-B preferred.
