Collects specimens from patients and processes specimens for testing, storage, or to be sent to outside labs in accordance with established procedures. This role involves explaining procedures to patients, maintaining records, performing follow-up on specimen issues, assisting with maintaining work areas and supplies, and performing clerical tasks such as patient registration and answering phones. The Phlebotomist also trains new staff and students, assists patients with wardrobe for collections, attends staff meetings, and upholds the organization's mission, vision, and values.
