About The Position
Medical Associates is hiring a Part-Time Phlebotomist – Nights/Weekends to work in the Laboratory Department. No prior training or experience required! The ideal candidate enjoys working at a fast pace and can manage their time accordingly, has outstanding communication skills, is able to multi-tasks with high attention to a detailed process, and is always willing to go above and beyond to provide outstanding patient care.
Requirements
- Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
- Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Nice To Haves
- Previous phlebotomy experience a plus, willing to train an individual who is eager to learn and thrive in this position!
Responsibilities
- Collect laboratory specimens from patients of all age groups and instruct patients for special laboratory testing.
- Perform venipuncture, arterial punctures and capillary finger sticks or heel sticks punctures; collect other laboratory specimens; instruct patients of all ages on collections of laboratory specimens; and properly identify and label laboratory specimens.
- Access and create patient orders; and perform data entry of laboratory test results.
- Provide back up for receptionists duties as required.
