About The Position
Performs Phlebotomy and related specimen collection on In Patients, Out Patients, on all age groups for a variety of lab tests. Must have a valid driver's license. Will be required to travel to different facilities using a FirstHealth company car.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program that includes phlebotomy or a minimum of 6 months experience in phlebotomy.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP, AMT, or ASPT certification.
Responsibilities
- Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods, as well as urine specimens from all age groups, for a variety of laboratory tests and procedures. These are used in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Provides specimen collection information and test preparation information to nursing, patients and family members as appropriate.
