About The Position

This role involves assisting in determining donor suitability, establishing rapport with donors, responding to donor reactions, monitoring donors and equipment, and operating plasmapheresis machines. The work is performed in a plasma center with potential exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms, as well as electrical equipment and extreme cold. Personal protective equipment is required. The role involves standing for 6-8 hours per day, with bending, twisting, and frequent hand and foot movements. Light lifting of up to 15lbs is required, with a maximum lift of 50lbs. Hearing acuity, color perception, and vision are essential. The ability to comprehend and follow instructions, listen to and understand spoken information, and relate sensitive information to diverse groups is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
• Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
• Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
• Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
• Sets up, disconnects, and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines.
• Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment.
