About The Position

Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by assisting with patient care in medical clinics through the performance of phlebotomy and laboratory procedures. Collects specimens according to established procedures. Explains the process of drawing blood clearly to the patient. Processes specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order. Sends blood samples to testing laboratories. Researches test/client information and confirms and verifies all written and electronic orders. Updates patient records. Maintains an organized and clean work area based on health and safety regulations and the guidelines of the clinic. Cleans, prepares, and sterilizes equipment. Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved medical assistant-phlebotomist training program
  • Current Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification issued by Washington State Department of Health
  • Excellent customer service
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Compassion for patients
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to track multiple tasks to completion simultaneously
  • Basic computer user skills
  • Medical terminology and accurate spelling
  • BLS (CPR/AED)
  • Valid driver's license and insurance
  • Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment
