About The Position

American Health Associates (AHA), a leading clinical laboratory primarily serving the long-term care sector, is expanding its services with an at-home blood draw program. This initiative is designed to offer patients greater flexibility in accessing blood work and lab services, particularly benefiting those with limited mobility, severe health issues, or transportation challenges. We are seeking experienced mobile phlebotomists to join our HOME DRAW team, where your contributions will be vital in delivering mobile phlebotomy services to patients in their homes. Good phlebotomists are essential to AHA's success.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy work experience required for Home Draws.
Additional credentialing requirements must be successfully completed prior to working on our Home Draw team!
Valid state-issued Driver License.
Must meet minimum age requirements, 21 years old.
Clean driving record for last 5-years.
Own reliable transportation.
Must provide proof of required auto insurance coverage (100/300/100).
Clean criminal history, as required for positions with direct patient care; some states require additional background checks including fingerprinting.
Must possess a passion for SAFETY and CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited training school or equivalent, preferred.

Responsibilities

Follows established phlebotomy procedures for obtaining samples from patients.
Properly and accurately identify all patients always according to AHA’s Phlebotomy Patient Identification Policy prior to facilitating proper collection.
Ensures that specimens are properly labeled, in the proper tube, and accompanied by a completed requisition, prior to transport.
Follows AHA’s phlebotomy policy on transporting PHI.
Maintain and present a positive attitude and concern for patient and staff safety, quality patient care; consistently demonstrate these attributes in consideration of time-sensitive blood draw requirements.
Must understand and be knowledgeable of the resident rights, patient care, and patient’s right to refuse.
Ability to obtain blood specimens from patients under a variety of patient conditions.
Works cooperatively with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments.
Must possess knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to laboratory purposes.
Knowledge of required specimen preservation, adequate patient preparation and specimen procedures.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
Maintains all equipment in good working orders and reports problems immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
When on duty, answers company issued mobile device promptly, checks-in and checks-out of patient homes or client facilities always and is ready and available to work.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; take directions and conduct self in a professional manner always.
