Maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance is essential. The role also includes efficiently delivering specimens to the main lab, understanding specimen integrity, and achieving competency in swab collection for all age groups. Responsibilities also encompass proper check-in procedures, demonstrating independent work capability (14 competency measures), working Saturday shifts, performing venipuncture in nursing homes, and correctly labeling specimens. Collaboration with management on teamwork and laboratory goals is expected. The role may also involve covering lab draws at all facilities in the absence of the nursing home coordinator.
