About The Position

The Laboratory Department is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw quality blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and complete clerical duties that support an efficient department. The role includes order entry, result lookup, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The position is based at Mary Immaculate Hospital and requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community members respectfully and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match their identities with the correct services to support patient safety.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform related clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
