About The Position

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented, and goal-driven individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist in Cullman, AL. In this role, you’ll help provide lifesaving blood products to hospitals and patients while ensuring donors have a safe and positive donation experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license required and must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals
- Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications
Nice To Haves
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- CDL holders preferred; additional compensation available
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Collect blood using automated instruments once trained
- Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth computer system (IBBIS)
- Determine donor eligibility based on donor interview and physical assessment results
- Accurately identify donors throughout every step of the donation process
- Assist with donor recruitment, tele-recruitment, and donor rescheduling efforts
- Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
