About The Position
Obtain specimens and performs venipunctures for specialized and routine testing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist, Certification by ASCP, or successful completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical staff and providers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Proficiency with computers.
Nice To Haves
- Training through a formal phlebotomy program.
- Certification as Phlebotomy Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
- One (1) year of experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Nursing home phlebotomy experience beneficial.
- Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques for all samples across all age groups as acquired through extensive phlebotomy experience.
