About The Position

Labcorp is a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development solutions, dedicated to helping healthcare providers, researchers, and patients make informed decisions to advance care. The company is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its team in Alpharetta, GA. The work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break, and rotating Saturdays. In this role, the Phlebotomist will perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, collect various specimens such as for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests, and accurately enter patient information. Responsibilities also include processing billing, collecting payments, preparing specimens for testing, maintaining patient and specimen information logs, and providing superior customer service. The Phlebotomist will also handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary and may be required to travel to additional sites. This position offers opportunities for continuous growth within the organization, and Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which provides a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. The role involves being the face of the company, providing exceptional customer service, and performing skilled specimen collections in either a Patient Service Center or Client office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
  • 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

  • 3 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
