About The Position

The Phlebotomist at Outreach Phlebotomy Services – Alverno PSC Crawfordsville is responsible for collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. Office duties include registering patients, accurately entering required information into the computer system, accessioning specimens, answering telephone calls, and processing paperwork. Specimen processing includes preparing specimens for testing or shipment to a central or reference laboratory. The role handles blood, body fluid, and urine specimens according to established procedures and may perform limited waived and specified non-waived point-of-care tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director. At some facilities, the employee may also drive and participate in an on-call rotation.

The position is listed as 40 hours per week. The regular schedule is 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM–12:00 PM Saturdays, with a weekend and/or holiday rotation. The Crawfordsville work location is 1644 Crawfordsville Square, Crawfordsville, Indiana 47933.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• May be required to travel or drive to other locations.

• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology.
