Phlebotomist -Outpatient
About The Position
The Phlebotomist II - Outpatient works under general supervision and follows established policies and procedures to prepare, collect, log, and label specimens for testing. The role performs pre-analytical processing and ordering of specimens arriving in the laboratory, registers patient information and laboratory test orders in the computer system, and arranges specimens for further processing by Laboratory staff. The position is part-time at 0.5 FTE, approximately 20 hours per week, at 932 Lake Street in Oak Park, Illinois. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon on various shifts Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday, occasional Sundays, and rotating holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Valid Illinois driver's license and auto insurance.
- For the Phlebotomist II level: at least one year of phlebotomy experience.
Nice To Haves
- For the Phlebotomist I level: completion of a phlebotomy training program that includes at least 100 clinical training hours.
