Phlebotomist: 20 Hours Per Week (PM)
About The Position
Franciscan Health Lafayette East is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team. This role is responsible for collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. Duties include patient registration, data entry, specimen accessioning, answering phones, and processing paperwork. Specimen processing involves preparing specimens for testing and shipment. The individual may also perform waived and specified non-waived POC tests. In some facilities, this role may also involve driving and participating in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- May be required to travel/drive to other locations
Nice To Haves
- Background in a medical laboratory
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
Responsibilities

- Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
- Acting as a driver and participating in the on-call rotation (in some facilities, as required)
