About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team in Ramsey, NJ. This is a casual/per diem position with hours as needed, varying from Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and rotating weekends from 7:00 am - 11:00 am. The role involves performing blood collections, processing specimens, data entry, handling billing, preparing specimens for analysis, maintaining logs, providing customer service, and performing administrative duties. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
• 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist
• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
