This part-time Phlebotomist position is located in Sheboygan, WI, within the 60121 WI ACL Laboratories - AMC Sheboygan County department. The role requires 20 hours per week, with a schedule of 2nd shift Monday-Friday from 1330-2200, and a 1-in-5 weekend rotation. The pay range is $19.80 - $29.70. The position involves verifying patient identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, performing venipuncture and collecting other specimens from patients of all age groups, and obtaining medical assistance when necessary. The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining specimens according to priority and scheduled draw times, ensuring specimen collection functions are completed according to protocol, and ensuring specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. They will also resolve specimen identification and/or requisition problems, perform limited testing under CLIA guidelines, answer and screen telephone calls, assist with inventory, maintain supplies and equipment, and provide support for billing and other business functions. Additionally, the role involves accepting, receiving, sorting, packaging, and tracking specimens for transport, processing specimens for testing, and responding to additional specimen procurement requests. The Phlebotomist will also order and verify test requests, document information for quality assurance, run quality control checks, notify providers of stat, critical, and abnormal results, perform laboratory result entry, and conduct internal and external proficiency testing. This role also includes instructing employees and students in phlebotomy, data entry, and specimen processing functions. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care and understand growth and development principles.
