About The Position
A Phlebotomist collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory. This role involves labeling, processing, and delivering specimens, collecting blood using age-appropriate techniques, maintaining equipment and medical supplies, and assisting with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred
- An approved nationally accredited training course in Phlebotomy Preferred
- Certification from ASCP or NHA Preferred
- Formal Phlebotomy training Preferred
