About The Position

Outreach Phlebotomy Services - Alverno PSC West Lafayette is seeking a Phlebotomist for 36 hours per week. This role involves specimen collection, laboratory office duties, and specimen processing. It is one of the largest integrated laboratory networks serving hospitals in the Midwest region, with 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• May be required to travel/drive to other locations

Nice To Haves

• Background in a medical laboratory
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Collection of blood specimens
• Performing laboratory office duties including registering patients, entering data into the computer system, specimen accessioning, answering telephone calls, and processing paperwork
• Processing laboratory specimens, including preparation for testing and/or shipping to central or reference laboratories
• Handling blood, body fluid, and urine specimens according to established procedures
• Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
• Acting as a driver and participating in on-call rotation as required in some facilities
