About The Position

The Phlebotomist Per Diem is responsible for performing blood collection activities for the purpose of health assessment in the Pathology department at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. The Phlebotomist PD also performs all activities, pre-analytic analysis, analytic analysis, and data management under the direction of a California Licensed Supervisor as defined in Chapter 3 of State of California Business and Professions Code. Provides customer service communication via phone and face-to-face.

Requirements

Current California Phlebotomy Certificate is required, or eligible for certification.
Knowledge of specimen collection techniques, equipment, and specimen handling is required.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of previous experience performing venipuncture on hospital based patient populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collection activities for health assessment.
Perform pre-analytic analysis, analytic analysis, and data management under the direction of a California Licensed Supervisor.
