Phlebotomist: 40 Hours Per Week (AM/PM)
About The Position
Ascension Saint Alexius is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team. This role is responsible for the collection of blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. Duties include registering patients, entering data into the computer system, specimen accessioning, answering phones, and processing paperwork. Specimen processing involves preparing specimens for testing or shipment. The individual may also perform limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests. In some facilities, this role may involve acting as a driver and participating in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- May be required to travel/drive to other locations
Responsibilities

- Handling blood, body fluid and urine specimens according to established procedures
- Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
- Acting as a driver and participating in the on-call rotation (in some facilities, as required)
