About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a clinical laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurate specimen collection, patient interaction, and laboratory support functions while ensuring compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency in laboratory systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting
  • Strong expertise in venipuncture and specimen handling across diverse patient populations
  • Proficiency with HIS and LIS systems
  • Knowledge of laboratory processes, specimen processing, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Experience in data entry, patient registration, and insurance verification
  • Strong communication and patient service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for mobile collections if required

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections using proper aseptic techniques
  • Accurately verify patient identity using two unique identifiers
  • Collect, label, process, and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity
  • Perform specialized collections including blood cultures, glucose tolerance tests, hormone stimulation tests, throat/MRSA swabs, urine samples, drug screens, and breath alcohol testing
  • Conduct arterial punctures where applicable
  • Utilize Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) for order entry, accessioning, result entry, and patient data management
  • Enter patient demographics, insurance details, and registration information accurately
  • Review and resolve test order discrepancies in coordination with clinical staff
  • Perform waived testing such as glucose monitoring, rapid flu/strep, and pregnancy tests
  • Receive, verify, centrifuge, aliquot, and distribute specimens appropriately
  • Communicate STAT and critical results promptly to appropriate personnel
  • Provide patient education regarding specimen collection procedures
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, restock supplies, and assist with ordering
  • Perform quality control checks, temperature monitoring, and maintain lab cleanliness
  • Support mobile specimen collection at patient homes or designated sites when required
