The work schedule is typically 6:30 am - 12:00 pm, with an additional $2.00/hour premium for Saturday shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institution.
- BLS certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital).
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program.
- ASCP certification desirable.
- Previous phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Uses appropriate techniques and procedures to obtain blood samples by venipuncture and skin puncture.
- Instructs patients on proper collection procedures for urine collection, stool collection, and other miscellaneous collections.
- Correctly labels all specimens and checks for quality.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of patients.
- Maintains laboratory operating procedures.
- Orders and distributes supplies as needed and notifies appropriate individual when supplies are low.
- Performs receptionist duties at the front desk of the outpatient lab.
