About The Position

This is a full-time, inpatient position on the third shift, working from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule. The role involves the collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing, adhering to department identification policies. It also includes performing, evaluating, and reporting on patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation. The phlebotomist is expected to demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, represent the lab professionally, and provide excellent customer service. Processing and distributing patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing may also be part of the duties.

Requirements

Minimum of 18 years of age required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Effective written and oral communication skills required.
Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
Computer experience required.
Attention to detail required.
Ability to multitask required.
Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Nice To Haves

Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred.
