About The Position
Desert View Hospital is a 25-bed, acute care hospital located in a rural community. The hospital is committed to providing safe and competent nursing care to patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy, emphasizing Patient Centered Care and Service Excellence standards. The Phlebotomist performs venipunctures and other patient specimen collections, requiring thorough knowledge of testing and collection requirements, and operates under moderate supervision.
Requirements
- Acceptable phlebotomy training program
- Basic computer knowledge required
- Phlebotomy certification required upon hire (Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care analyst license may be substituted for certification)
- Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Advanced EMT and Licensed Paramedic are also accepted
- If national certification then Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care Analyst licensure with the State of Nevada within 6 months of hire
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a Lab Assistant, phlebotomist, emergency room technician, LPN or paramedic with phlebotomy skill set
