This is a full-time Phlebotomist position with day shift hours, working from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including every Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role involves verifying patient identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, performing venipuncture and collecting other specimens from patients of all age groups according to established protocols. The position also includes performing limited testing, answering and screening telephone calls, assisting with inventory, accepting and processing specimens for transport and testing, ordering and verifying test requests, documenting information for quality assurance, running quality control checks, notifying providers of critical results, performing laboratory result entry, and instructing employees and students in phlebotomy and related functions. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served.
