Phlebotomist - Float (Rockport/Portland, TX)
About The Position
The Phlebotomist - Float provides patient care and customer-focused service while traveling between worksites in the Rockport/Portland, Texas area. The role performs venipuncture on patients of all ages, collects and prepares non-blood specimens, and ensures proper specimen processing, labeling, and test ordering. The position also champions safety, compliance, and quality control. This part-time, first-shift role is scheduled for 25 hours per week. It includes routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees receive training on safeguards and must maintain strict confidentiality, follow applicable privacy and security standards, and access PHI only as required for their duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous phlebotomy training or experience.
- Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Follow applicable privacy and security standards for PHI.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing.
- Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.
