About The Position

Labcorp is a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development solutions, dedicated to helping healthcare providers, researchers, and patients make informed decisions that advance care. The company is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team in Germantown, MD. This role involves performing blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, collecting various specimens such as for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests, and accurately performing data entry of patient information. The Phlebotomist will also be responsible for processing billing, collecting payments, preparing collected specimens for testing and analysis, maintaining patient and specimen information logs, and providing superior customer service. The position is based in a Client Office and offers opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Phlebotomists may also be eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Travel to additional site as needed, reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification or 6 months' of phlebotomy experience
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may meet requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Other Duties as assigned
