About The Position

Indiana Heart Physicians is seeking a Phlebotomist for a full-time position, 40 hours per week. This role involves the collection of blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. The position is part of a large integrated laboratory network serving hospitals in the Midwest, with a commitment to advancing community health and wellness.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record

Nice To Haves

• Background in a medical laboratory
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Collection of blood specimens
• Performing laboratory office duties including registering patients, entering data into the computer system, specimen accessioning, answering telephone calls, and processing paperwork
• Processing laboratory specimens, including preparation for testing and/or sending to central or reference laboratories
• Handling blood, body fluid, and urine specimens according to established procedures
• Performing limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director
• Acting as a driver and participating in on-call rotation as required in some facilities
• Traveling/driving to other locations as required
