About The Position

This is a Per Diem position where the phlebotomist is proficient at 98% of venipuncture attempts. They assure that the specimen collected is appropriate for the test required, including collecting the correct tube and amount of blood. The role requires following protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times, understanding the consequences of deviation from protocol. The phlebotomist will take a leadership role in the orientation and training of new Associates and students. They will demonstrate a consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants, children, and adults, and perform all collections in a timely manner. The role also involves demonstrating knowledge of the proper utilization of various types of equipment such as syringes, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers, and blood culture equipment. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • To be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy program and/or have a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital
  • To have excellent customer service skills
  • To have excellent organizational skills
