Part-Time Phlebotomist
About The Position
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented, goal-driven Phlebotomist in Gainesville, Georgia. The role collects blood from donors, determines donor eligibility, and supports the donation process while providing high-quality customer service. The position may also assist with donor recruitment, tele-recruitment, and rescheduling, and convert donors to apheresis when appropriate. This is a full-time position with a starting salary range of $18.50–$20.35 per hour. The schedule varies and may include nights, weekends, and holidays. A criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen are required after a conditional offer of hire.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements.
- Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- CDL holders preferred; additional compensation available.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures.
- Collect blood using automated instruments after training.
- Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth computer system (IBBIS).
- Determine donor eligibility based on the donor interview and physical process.
- Accurately identify donors throughout every step of the donation process.
- Assist with donor recruitment, tele-recruitment, and rescheduling.
- Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
