Collects clinical laboratory specimens and performs tasks associated with patient registration, order entry, and specimen processing with general supervision. Performs waived testing with general supervision. Provides logistical support to team members and general assistance to customers. This role requires the ability to perform venipunctures, collect other specimens, and explain proper collection procedures. The phlebotomist will clarify orders, perform registration, process specimens, and promote company values with excellent customer relations. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of specimen requirements, managing supply inventory, and ensuring a meticulous work area are also key responsibilities. The role may involve assisting with training new staff, participating in continuous improvement and continuing education programs, and properly documenting expense reimbursements. On-call and mobile services may be required, including travel to sites within 25 miles of the base location. Per diem work is determined by departmental needs and employee availability, with flexibility being an expectation.
