About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its team in Wayne, New Jersey. The Phlebotomist may work in a Patient Service Center or a client office, providing customer service and performing skilled specimen collections as a representative of the company. The role offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization.

This is a casual/PRN position with hours scheduled as needed. Start and end times vary within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The position pays $17.75–$24.00 per hour. Eligible Phlebotomists may participate in a quarterly performance-based PST Incentive Plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must be from an accredited agency.
• Demonstrated record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
