Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Familiarity with Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communications, and Laboratory Safety Manuals.
Team Player: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented position.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and accuracy in specimen handling and documentation.

Nice To Haves

At least 2-3 years of phlebotomy experience is highly preferred.
Completion of a Phlebotomy course preferred.

Responsibilities

Performing proper procedures for specimen collection, including Venipuncture, Capillary sticks, Urinalysis, Glucose Tolerances, and First Aid.
Registering patients while interacting courteously and professionally.
Ensuring the accuracy of patient identification and proper specimen labeling.
Following HIPAA guidelines.
Completing all assignments on time.
Displaying a professional attitude and personal appearance.
Handling patients with adverse reactions to venipuncture.
Proficiently using computers and technology for data entry purposes.
Assuring safety through appropriate specimen labeling.
Notifying physicians of critical lab results.
Maintaining a clean and organized phlebotomy area.
Performing additional duties as requested by a supervisor.
