About The Position

Under the direction of the Lab Support Supervisor, the phlebotomist is responsible for the collection of venous, arterial, and capillary blood specimens from patients, and transporting said specimens to the laboratory. The incumbent also performs clerical duties and related duties as assigned. Position duties affect direct patient care by ensuring proper techniques and protocol when collecting blood specimens.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program
  • Current phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT)
  • CPR certification
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
