Performs phlebotomy functions and non–technical duties. This role involves drawing blood, identifying patients, labeling specimens, prioritizing STAT draws, utilizing computer systems for order entry and record keeping, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The phlebotomist will also assist co-workers, train new employees, and adhere to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Additionally, responsibilities include receptionist duties in the outpatient lab, daily equipment cleaning, temperature recording for refrigerators, and fostering a culture of safety by adhering to universal precautions and using personal protective equipment.
